It is very striking as wall upholstery in a dining room designed by Suzanne Lovell Inc. (pg. 78-79). The pattern of Silkskin makes it a dynamic choice for walls. The python inspired motif reads as a soft texture from a far and then becomes more intricate as you move towards it. The silk warp gives this textile a subtle luster that feels right at home with the richness of this space.

Delave Lagoon was featured in the March 2010 issue of Veranda. It graces a beautiful custom sectional (pg.55) in a home designed by the Los Angeles firm Atelier AM. The article points to the use of this “unfussy linen” as a key to achieving the homes dual personality that is both modern and rustic (pg. 59). We couldn’t agree more! Delave, a collection staple, brings the elegance of simple, quality linen along with the interest of a subtly varied surface.

The beautiful chair pictured above (interior by Suzanne Lovell, Inc) is upholstered in what has become one of Twill Textiles’ most beloved patterns, Gooseye. This durable linen/cotton textile is derived from a historic weave structure of concentric diamonds that resemble a bird’s eye. Sam Kasten originally hand wove this pattern for drapery in his own home and it was so successful that he translated for Twill. Twill’s mill woven version is visually almost identical to the hand woven but has an added structural element which increased strength and durability.

Stockbridge Strie Lagoon was featured in the June 2009 issue of The World of Interiors. The article showcases the Milan apartment of fashion designer, Graeme Black and on page 107 you can find our Strie working beautifully as pillows on a Jonathan Reed designed sofa. The textile’s subtle coloring and texture blend wonderfully with both the room’s eclectic and modern elements. We were particularly excited to see the way the pillows were creatively banded.

This smart chair handcrafted by The New Traditionalists makes wonderful use of two distinct Twill patterns.
